Dominguez Hills Flying Club presents a 60-hour private pilot program for high school youths to obtain their private pilot’s license. This 60-hour program is in partnership with a local flight academy and various youth and community development programs. It includes wrap-around services and case management to increase the success of youths in the program. The private pilot flight curriculum is comprised of nine essential topics in aviation. Internships with the Civil Air Patrol will introduce youths to the airline and aviation environment
Our goal is to provide our students with aviation industry internships, mentoring, and workshops conducted by aviation industry experts. Additionally, upon completion of the Private Pilot program, students will be given the option to continue with training and pursue additional certifications through our on-the-job-training program as flight instructors, which will provide income and the ability to earn flight hours towards their Airline Transport Certification.
